Johnny Valadez and his team are not only passionate about racing, but also own and operate Technical Manufacturing West. North South has been collaborating with them since the inception providing machines, support and service, and takes pride in backing them in their competitive pursuits. We caught up with Johnny to hear about a few highlights from his week at the 2024 King Of The Hammers.
How was the King Of The Hammers event different from others you’ve done this year?
The King of the Hammers stands out from most races due to its difficulty and the attrition it brings. In other races, the primary focus is a good, fast finish. However, in this race, the main challenge lies in simply completing the grueling course and ensuring the vehicle remains intact until the end, all while maintaining a competitive pace.
How has North South helped you overcome challenges on and off the track?
Off the track, North South has been instrumental in starting my business and maintaining it’s growth, providing invaluable support and top-notch equipment to our team.
On the track, their many years of racing experience has provided knowledge and has helped paint a bigger picture of what our team could be. They’ve steered me towards a more professional approach as both a racer and team, guiding me on the path to success.
What was it like watching Hunter complete her first event and winning that $500 check?
It was one of the proudest moments of my life. Seeing my daughter’s newfound passion for off-road racing, her eagerness to compete, and her instant love for the sport after just one race was truly remarkable.
